MyFitStrip’s PRO Nitric Oxide Chewing Gum is a slow-release compression chewing gum infused with a patent-pending formula of prebiotic nitrate, ascorbate, xylitol and zinc. Initial observations was the acute improvement and expeditious nature of this favorable microbiome shift. A symbiotic relationship exists where these oral bacteria use nitrate to breath, in a similar fashion as we use oxygen. And in turn, we, as the host, benefit from the downstream formation of nitric oxide. This first-generation chewing gum is not intended to replace a nitrate-rich leafy green diet, nitrate-rich beet juices or clinically supported dietary nutraceuticals, but simply to enhances the microflora that favors nitrate bioconversion in the oral cavity, a critical first step in nitric oxide formation. Early results are showing an increase in salivary alkalinity and a favorable shift towards certain species of nitric oxide-promoting bacteria with a corresponding decrease in bacteria-associated with poor health. This shift was apparent within hours of chewing. Observations will be published later this year and follow-on studies are underway to further evaluate the oral and systemic health connection in context of oral nitric oxide bioavailability.
